Speech, physical, and occupational therapy jobs in Colorado Springs require the following Colorado licensing and certifications for each specialty:*
Physical Therapist
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) – or equivalent accredited degree
- Must be a CAPTE-accredited program
- Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination
- Licensed by Colorado State Physical Therapy Board (through DORA)
- As part of the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact, a licensure endorsement for PTs from other compact states is acceptable.

Speech Language Pathologist
- Master’s degree (or higher) in communicative sciences, speech-language pathology, or a related field.
- Complete 400 hours of supervised clinical practicum and 36 weeks of supervised professional experience
- Certification to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist with Colorado’s DORA
- Submit fingerprints for a fingerprint-based criminal background check
