  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) – or equivalent accredited degree
  • Must be a CAPTE-accredited program
  • Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination
  • Licensed by Colorado State Physical Therapy Board (through DORA)
  • As part of the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact, a licensure endorsement for PTs from other compact states is acceptable.
  • Submit fingerprints for a fingerprint-based criminal background check

  • Pass the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
  • Complete supervised fieldwork (internship / clinical experience) requirements
  • Licensed or registered as an OT by Colorado DORA
  • If working in public schools (ages 0-21), OT may need a “Special Services License” via the CDE.
  • Submit fingerprints for a fingerprint-based criminal background check

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in communicative sciences, speech-language pathology, or a related field.
  • Complete 400 hours of supervised clinical practicum and 36 weeks of supervised professional experience
  • Certification to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist with Colorado’s DORA
  • Submit fingerprints for a fingerprint-based criminal background check
