Licensing & Certification Requirements in Waco
Candidates for physical, speech, or occupational therapy jobs in Waco, TX must meet the following Texas licensing and certification requirements:*
Physical Therapist
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) – or equivalent accredited degree
- Must be a CAPTE-accredited program
- Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination

- Complete 400 hours of supervised clinical practicum and 36 weeks of supervised professional experience
- Submit a completed application to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
- Completion of the Texas Jurisprudence Exam
- Fingerprint-based criminal history check
